On Noise
There has been a lot of noise this week. Duplicate images. Rarity washing. Collision rates. Each presented as a revelation and equally missing the point entirely. Despite its nomenclature, uPeg is about consequences, and the image is one of many consequences of the mechanism. The mechanism supersedes it. What this was always about is harder to see and more important to understand. An object generated by the chain. Stored in the contract. Permanent because Ethereum is permanent. Provenance encoded from the moment of creation. No pointer to somewhere else. No dependency on anyone keeping the lights on. That has not changed. It is impossible to be changed. It is written into the contract. Good. The scarcity in uPeg is not defined by trait rarity. It is defined by the accumulation of fractional dust making whole integers progressively harder to generate. Every reroll adds dust. Every atomic selection accelerates this. Every fragment that never becomes a whole integer makes the ones that already exist more significant. The people gaming the trait system are, without knowing it, doing exactly what the mechanism was designed for them to do. The irony itself is yet another consequence of the mechanism. This was always the design. It is working exactly as intended. On duplicates. Known. Documented. A function of the same cryptographic properties that make everything else here permanent, verifiable and trustless. The image is not the object. The provenance is. What comes next has been in motion for some time. uPeg will be the first collection to exist simultaneously as an ERC-20 on a Uniswap v4 liquidity pool, an OTC market, and an official collection on a major secondary platform. Same object. Same hash. Same provenance. Everywhere. The end state is simple. Whole integers on secondary markets where provenance determines value. Fragments on the AMM. Two markets. One contract. No team controlling either. The mechanism produces this naturally. It always was going to. Nothing that happened this week changed any of that. The noise was loud. The foundation did not move. In this mechanism, consequences are a good thing. 0xhadrian.eth
